Got a bunch of m/m ebooks yesterday. The 5 I began to read are terrible and I'm afraid it's going to be a common theme: poor character development, nonsensical or sex-driven plot, and boring dialogue. Josh Lanyon's the best so far and the next best, a Psycop novel started rather abruptly. It had a great main character voice and established in an interesting alternate world to make up for the random relationship though. The other three--ARGH.

Anyone might have authors to rec? Please, please, please no bdsm-centric novels please. I've read one and it made me wince. Like bad fanfic it was.
