Figuring out next year's living expenses

Just so I don't forget... Reminder to self: get a map of city of Davis. Map out all bus lines, imprt stores, potential apartments, how far all are form future home/ campus.
Currently, housing in the dorms, not including food, is ~$600. On campus apartments near Segundo are ~600 for a studio, ~700 for a 1-bedroom apartment, up to 4 bedrooms for `1000 something. Me and Cindy are planning for 4 roommates. Including Yen if she decides to decline RAing next year or doesn't get accepted. Maybe the same with Shevata.
Thinking of getting a 1-room so will rooms like the quad configuration. The 1 bedroom for all our beds (air mattresses w/ sheets, or futons--something not so cumbersome to move around or store when not in use), and the living room for studying. Me and Yen don't really have a desk at home and don't really want to buy a new one just for living in Davis. Perhaps we should get one big table for all of use to use to study, rather than 4 individual desks. Then we each just bring as many storage devices as we each personally see fit.
Need to figure out internet, whether we'll need a TV or not, a phone line, utilities, lease, etc. The bills stuff. How long a lease we need. For bills, should we give one person our portion and that one person writes one big check to pay? Or should we each deposit in a new account created just for rent and then anyone of else can write out a check from that pool of money?
Groceries. See what cooking skills each person is capable of. Who, if any of us, will be bringing a car. Costco in Vacaville. Albertson's and Safeway accessible by J or G-line bus. I have Mom's Albertson's card. Both me and Yen's father has Costco membership. What should we buy in bulk? Keep an eye on ads and sales. How will we portion out bills?
Chores... Who does what when?
Closets? Just boxes for clothes storage? or dressers? How much does the cheapest furniture cost? Will we need to buy lamps? How many powerstrips will we need?
How will student loans work to help pay this? Does the money just go to us for whatever use, or just towards school fees? The actual education costs and doesn't cover living expenses?
