Today is good and bad.

Let's get over the bad first:

Americans who hate on Japan because of Pearl Harbor during this natural disaster should remember Hiroshima and respect life no matter the nationality or ethnicity.

You have no right to talk about Pearl Harbor if all you know of it is from the movie. Before you go around saying cruel, hurtful things, due to the strength of your reaction to that film, please watch Hayao Miyazaki's Grave of the Fireflies. There are innocents involved, always, and people often had no say in what their leaders and authority decide upon. Keep also in mind that governments change with time, as do opinions.

And some balm for us all:

1. I was staggered to hear that there are people who have been saying this. The level of heartless stupidity it would take to say that is just ... Seriously, whose brain works that way?

2. Grave of the Fireflies is the film I am not allowed to watch due to it being the single most heartbreaking thing in the world.

3. You do good balm, but the people from point 1 don't deserve any. They deserve papercuts on their genitals and then a lemon juice bath.

1. Sadly, or happily, the people who think so will never be the people who read my journal.

2. It was the first film to make me cry. Unfortunately, I was so excited to find it that I made my family watch it on Christmas Day, thinking it another lighthearted tale, and at the end, the whole room was dead silent and depressed.

3. That is perhaps the most cruel and unusual punishment I've ever heard. And I agree one hundred percent.

O.o

The dumb thing is, I would guess virtually all the people who are bitching and moaning about Pearl Harbor weren't even alive when it happened. What a bunch of jackwagons.
