I hate to say how many times I've been to the theater this summer to see The Dark Knight. In fact, now that I think about it, I've lost count. This movie is a masterpiece of dark intensity--it maintains its tone (what one reviewer called "midnight black") throughout. I've rarely seen a fantasy/sci fi movie with archetypal characters like the Joker and Batman that made those characters so unpredictable, entertaining, and terrifyingly real that it is impossible not to watch them. I've rarely seen an adrenline rush action movie that left me thinking about its moral implications and the philosophy of good and evil at the end. I've rarely seen any movie that made me want to go out and marry the screenwriter because the movie was just that friggin good. I can't wait for the DVD--yeah!
