SMP treat!
Warning: This is going to be a post with excessive exclamation mark usage. Also features much wallowing in self-pity.
So this was my week of torture. I had four papers of various lengths due each day of the week (meaning I still I have one more to go) and three midterms. The toughest by far was the four-page comparison between Aristotle and Plato for ENL 110A, Intro to Crit Lit. It's not fun to pull an all-nighter (1 hour nap!) for about the the third time in a row. Worse, one of the papers I slaved over
So I trudge home at 5:30 today, exhausted with nothing to look forward to this Happy Halloween except more studying for a Friday and Monday midterm. The crowded bus-ride home was spent listening to two otaku girls and one otaku guy talk geek jargon about kendo and feeling pretty envious and more than slightly panicked. I really need to join some sort of club on campus.
Then, as usual, I check the mail.
There was an intriguingly thick white envelope crammed in with the grocery ads, but then again, my roommate was expecting something too. There was also the electricity bill, but that's not so important.
Then I checked the name on the envelope and was so out of it, I was wondering, "Animeartistjo? No one lives here named..." before synapses fired.
OMG the postage was $6.15! It was from Missouri! It was full of pretties! So many pretty, sparkly, shining lovely things! And it was personalized! Thank you, thank you, thank you Skylark, for putting this all together--it was the single bright spot of my Halloween this year, believe me. I especially love the sticker of the puzzled!skeleton sticker on the front.
I spent a solid two minutes just squeeing over the bookmark (black kitteh! Love!) with ribbons! and the the adorable cat!comic. The wee postcard with the chibi monsters were adorable--it has joined my Naruto and Sasuke picture on the wall over my desk.
I then turned my attention to the written contents and OMG! Stationary Paper! Lots and lots of it! And hard copies of my stalkees' work!
I've only had the chance to read four of them before I fell asleep, but they were excellent.
Tygati: Methinks you knew about that bookmark and decided to write something to go with it. Ever since I read the Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede, which features fire witches in the last two volumes, I have been wishing to read a slash story with a fire witch.
Maderr: Do I even need to say anything? Cute, sweet, action-filled, and ending-with-a-kiss perfection in alternating purple and orange paper!
Merchante_fille: Words fail me. Only your delightfully twisted mind could create a shelter for gay ghosts and then give said shelter its own pretty boi.
Tsaiko: Oooo--your story put the p0rn in SMP! And I can tell their's will be lively relationship.
So now I am happy, though still a little tired and not looking forward to more quality time with my Norton Reader.
I'm also hoping to finish at least one of the three stories I started in hopes of making the SMP deadline, but they'll have to wait until next Tuesday.
